Makes 24 Cookies
Tools: Medium sized bowl, two baking sheets, hand mixer, small bowl, wooden spoon or spatula.
Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs, room temperature is best for incorporation
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons hot water
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
In a medium sized bowl, cream together the butter and sugars until smooth. Beat in the eggs, one at a time and then stir in the vanilla extract.
In a small bowl, dissolve the baking soda into the hot water. Add the mixture to the batter along with the sea salt. Stir in the flour and chocolate chips by hand with a wooden spoon or spatula until just combined.
Drop the batter by large teaspoon-fuls onto ungreased baking sheets about 2 inches apart. Bake for 9-10 minutes in your preheated oven or until the edges are nicely browned.
Allow the cookies to cool slightly on the baking sheets before moving to a wire rack to cool completely.
Happy eating! Xo
